Creamy Mashed Potatoes Recipe


Who would want some creamy, yummy mashed potatoes?


Ingredients:

5 lbs. White or Yukon Gold Potatoes, peeled (cut into 2” chunks)

2 1/2 Tbsp. Salt

12 Tbsp. Unsalted Butter, at room temperature (cut into pieces)

1/2 to 3/4 Cup Heavy Cream

1/4 tsp. Ground Nutmeg

3/4 tsp. Black Pepper

1 Cup Sour Cream

1 tsp. Kosher Salt


Directions:

In a large pot, place the potatoes and salt.  Cover the potatoes with cold water.  Then bring to a boil.  Then reduce the heat and let them simmer until tender, 20 to 25 minutes.


While waiting, in a saucepan, over medium heat, place in the butter and 1/2 cup of the heavy cream until the butter melts.


When the potatoes are done, drain the pot, and add the butter/cream mixture, nutmeg, pepper, sour cream, and kosher salt.  Mash the potatoes with a handheld masher, you can add more cream if the consistency is too thick, but only 1 Tbsp. at a time.
